1. Rosa Parks (United States, 1955)
Rosa Parks was a Black woman who refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her act of quiet bravery helped spark the Civil Rights Movement.

Why was Rosa’s action so important?
How did segregation laws affect her daily life?
What lesson does her story teach us?
2. Sipho’s Story (South Africa, 1980s)
Sipho was a 13-year-old boy growing up under apartheid. He couldn’t attend the same school as white children and his parents had to carry passbooks wherever they went.

How do you think Sipho felt about apartheid laws?
What did Nelson Mandela and others fight for?
Why is equality important in education?
3. Amina’s Story (West Africa, 1700s)
Amina was captured and forced onto a ship bound for the Americas. She dreamed of freedom and remembered her family and songs from home.
Questions:
How does Amina’s story show the impact of slavery?
How did enslaved people keep hope alive?
What can we learn about human rights from this history?
