Reread the section where Ada teaches Butter to trot (around p. 130).
Think about the word persistence.
Write a short paragraph explaining how Ada shows persistence. Include at least 2–3 pieces of evidence from the text.
Read and think about these lines:
“If you have to tell lies…to keep yourself safe—I don’t think that makes you a liar.”
“Saying something stupid doesn’t make you stupid.”
Write a short response:
How do these words begin to change how Ada sees herself?
Why are these moments important for her growth?
